I had a terrific time covering the Hollywood Arts Council's 26th Annual Charlie Awards held in the beautiful historic Blossom Room of the Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel.  It was my first time and it was great.  The Charlie's were hosted by ABC 7's George Pennacchio, one of my favorite and most knowledgable Entertainment Reporters.  The Hollywood Arts Council's  Charlie's helps to support Project S.O.A.R.  - "Students Overcoming All Risks" in the Hollywood area.  I recently attended a Project S.O.A.R. event  & was amazed by the work it does by sharing the arts with elementary students - Project S.O.A.R. supports much needed no-cost after school arts workshops for at risk, under-served children in Hollywood public schools.  The invaluable training these kids receive free of charge helps them develop into well rounded, happy people.   Eric Garcetti, President, Los Angeles City Council said: "The Hollywood Arts Council has been a critical partner in revitalizing Hollywood through a variety of advocacy work, including free public arts events and after school programs such as Project S.O.A.R.  serving the culturally, economically and socially diverse area of Hollywood...  the Arts Council has not only lived up to its mission of promoting, nurturing and supporting the arts, it has gone above and beyond the vision to reintroduce the arts to local business and residential communities."  For more information please visit www.HollywoodArtsCouncil.org ....  See you at next year's Charlie Awards!
