Great Performers... Molly Reynolds & Joey Jennings charm audiences in "The Fantasticks" at Theatre West
Now Playing at Theatre West...  A Chestnuts Production of the family friendly musical "The Fantasticks" with book and lyrics by Tom Jones and music by Harvey Schmidt. The enjoyable show directed by Charlie Mount features the beautiful classics "Try to Remember" and "Soon It's Gonna Rain" performed by a talented, diverse cast which includes Lukas Bailey, Molly Reynolds, Joey Jennings, Roger Kent Cruz, Steve Nevil, Don Moss and Yancey Dunham. Cast member  Lee Meriwether  conveys great depth, wisdom & soul not saying one word in her role as "The Mute".  Sheltered teen neighbors Matt (Joey Jennings) & Luisa (Molly Reynolds) fall in love thinking their dads are feuding, making their passionate bond stronger.  When they find out that the feud was actually a ploy by the dads to bring them together they become disillusioned,  break up  and set off on their own wordly adventures to find out who they really are. Eventually they find their way back to each other - and this time their love is more mature and much stronger.  Some of the other songs under the very capable musical direction of Graham Jackson  include "Much More", "Metaphor", "Never Say No", "Happy Endings", "This Plum Is Too Ripe", "Plant a Radish" and "They Were You".   "The Fantasticks" plays til October 7th.
