Super talented singer/performers Shelly Goldstein, Kat Kramer & Beth Lapides (joined by Barbra Streisand colleague Bob Estes)  lent their support to  "Our Name Is Barbra"/"Songs for Isabella"  held recently at the Catalina  Jazz Club in Hollywood.  The event celebrated the 70th birthday of Barbra Streisand to benefit "Songs for Isabella".  Four year old Isabella Vahanian has AML Leukemia and her care requires her parent's full time attention. Kat Kramer's special guest Academy Award winner George Chakiris remarked what a terrific evening it was.  Other performers on hand that nite include Clifford Bell (who initiated the grass roots organization in 2010 with Belle Zwerdling) Brad Griffiths, Shawn Ryan, Ilene Graff, Brad Ellis, Mitch Kaplan & David Zimmerman .  Kudo's to all who donated their time & talents!  Please visit www.talbertfamilyfoundation.org to learn more & help out...  Winning Cast....  The excellent  new drama "Camp Logan" features  in alphabetical order Dorian C. Baucum, Bill Lee Brown, Kaylon Hunt, Dwain A. Perry, Lee Stansberry, Jacob Sidney & Sammie Wayne lV downtown at LATC .  This eye opening  play is a Robey Theatre Company production beautifully written by Celeste Bedford Walker, a native of Houstan, Texas and superbly directed by Alex Morris...  I highly recommend it!  The play tells the true shocking story of the incidents leading up to the 1917 Camp Logan riots & court marshalls in Texas.  Director Alex Morris performed in early productions of the play many years ago and along with his wife producer Vanessa Paul were determined to bring this poignant story to today's audiences. They joined forces with husband and wife Julius Tennon & Viola Davis of JuVee Productions resulting in this important must see Robey Theatre production at LATC.  Thanks to Chef Monique for the tasty southern-styled dinner opening nite....   HH(:

"
Last week while on an errand in East L.A. I dropped by the Anthony Quinn Library at 3965 Cesar E. Chavez....  Timing is everything they say and lucky for me I was able to enjoy "Anthony Quinn: A Legacy" a beautiful exhibit of the renowned actor's memorabilia donated to the County of Los Angeles Public Library many years ago by Mr. Quinn. The library held this special week long exhibit in honor of the late great actor's birthday.  Mr. Quinn grew up in the area and the library's parking lot was once the home of his beloved Grandmother.  I  hear the library plans to host this special  exhibit again next year in honor of Mr. Quinn's birthday...  I look forward to it....  HH(:
