I attended opening nite of Doma Theatre's new production of "Jekyll & Hyde" at The Met Theatre in Hollywood on Friday and loved it..  it  is a dazzling, edgy must see production.  Based on Robert Louis Stevenson's classic,  this energetic and talent heavy musical created in 1997 is dramatically helmed by Marco Gomez with great musical direction by Chris Raymond. Chris Kerrigan is terrific in the lead roles of Dr. Jekyll & Mr. Hyde.  He is a wonderful singer and his ability to easily transform between the 2 characters is great. He truly creates a very scary Edward Hyde. Amber Gildersleeve  is perfectly cast as his fiance Emily Carew as is Cassandra Nuss as prostitute Lucy "the other woman".  Both women are lovely & sing and perform beautifully as does Benai Boyd who stands out as Nellie.  The entire cast is terrific and committed to their roles, small or large. Jekyll & Hyde features music by Frank Wildhorn with book & lyrics by Leslie Bricusse and the 30 member cast works hard to entertain. Great show, very entertaining with great singing & performances.  Kudos to costumes/scenic designer Brandy Jacobs & to Paul LaMarche for his creative hair & make up.
