I had the pleasure of attending opening nite Saturday of the hit Gershwin Tony Award winning musical comedy "Crazy For You" at the Morgan-Wixson Theatre in Santa Monica.  The show is great and the talented energetic cast really delivers. It's fantastic, good old fashioned fun!  Great choreography by charismatic co-star Krystal Jasmin Combs who plays country girl Polly Baker with sass & spunk... a great singer, dancer, actress & choreographer.  Leading man Peter Schueller is also terrific as Bobby Child -  he sings, dances and acts very well and gets a lot of laughs.  Banker by day Bobby Child longs for a career on the stage.  He is sent by his domineering banker mother played by Susan Stangl,  to shut down a small country town's theater owned by Polly's dad  Everett Baker (Alan Charof).   Bobby falls hard for Polly but she doesn't want to have anything to do with him so he goes through tremendous effort to try & win her love.  The production is well directed by Anne Gesling who also serves as music director and costume designer - lots of 1930's glitz, glamour and fun for the city slickers/Broadway movers & shakers and appropriate country bumpkin costumes for the small town cowboy folk.  The book for "Crazy For You" is by Ken Ludwig with music and lyrics by George and Ira Gershwin.  The memorable Gershwin songs include "Nice Work If You can Get It", "Embraceable You", "Someone to Watch Over Me", "They Can't Take That Away From Me", "I Got Rhythm", "Shall We Dance" plus the very naughty "Naughty Baby".   The talented cast consists of Michelle Akeley, Lauren Blair, Alan Charof, Holly Childers, Krystal Jasmin Combs, Steve Hall, Sheldon Morley, Danielle Morris, Eileen Cherry O'Donnell, Roy T. Okida, Marc Ostroff, Shaina Zalma Ostroff, Alex Pierdant, Jack Robert Riordan, Peter Schueller, Laura Sheehan, Chris Siciliano, Susan Stangl & Steve Weber.  I highly recommend this production.
