Harrison Held's SceneAroundTown... "Cold Comes The Night" Film Independent/Project Involve... Vista Theatre

Alice Eve

It was exciting to attend my first screening of the new year and enjoy the fine work of director Tze Chun's solid icy thriller "Cold Comes The Night" featuring a great cast - lovely British actress Alice Eve, Bryan Cranston, Logan Marshall-Green & child actress Ursula Parker. The screening was presented by Film Independent's Project Involve & was held at The VISTA on Sunset.  Alice Eve stars as  loving single mom Chloe & is terrific - she owns the screen & her character operating  a rundown motel and trying to raise her daughter Sophia (Ursula Parker) against many obstacles. Her corrupt married cop lover Billy (Logan Marshall-Green)  is great as is Bryan Cranston as TOPO a menacing professional Polish criminal. Child actress Ursula Parker shows lots of promise in her role.  The well shot dramatic thriller opens in selected cities across the country January 10th. Alice Eve & Tze Chun were featured in a Q&A following the movie hosted by Film Independent's Francisco Velasquez. When asked what attracted her to the movie Ms. Eve immediately answered "Chloe" & went on to reflect about her friends that are mothers & their unshakable love for their children.  She added that she arrived on location to the desolate community where the film was shot to do her own research & visited a local motel similar to the one used in the movie where conditions & lifestyle were very bleak.  Following the Q&A the lively after party was held across the street at Rudy's Barbershop with good eats from Montecito Farms.  Thank you Film Independent for a great nite!  HH
